2008 Hajime : Competition highlight
Congratulations to John Baylon and Karl Medina
Co - Head Instructor of Team Fabrico BJJ / Judo Academy 6 degree Judo Black belt and BJJ Brown Belt Sensei John Baylon won both his weight and the Open division in the 2008 Hajime Judo competition held at Ateneo.
The highlight of the day was the fight between BJJ Black Belt Mike Fowler (Gracie World Champion, Pan Am medalist, World ADCC finalist and Head Instructor of Pure Breed Guam ) and Sensei John.
Sensei John was able to take the match to the ground after countering a takedown attempt by Mike and finishing with an arm bar under the 2 minute mark.
Karl Medina also placed third in the competition which was a great effort and a testament to his skill due to the limited preparation and mat time prior to the comp.
Congratulations from all the members of KMA to Sensei John, Karl and the other 2008 Hajime competitors.
We also wish Sensei John the best of luck as he prepares for the Judo Kano Cup in Japan.
Congratulations to KMA head Instructor John Baylon

2008 Philippine Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi - No Gi International Open
I would like to thank all the Local and International Teams and players who supported this years event.
A special mention should go to the Singapore contingent who brought in a large Junior Team of competitors as young as 7 years old. Besides some great individual results the Singapore team also won the Team throphy against a team of three children ages 7-9 from the Philippines. It was a great experience for the kids and we hope this will lead to future events between the two countries.
There where some great fights during the comp with some divisions topping 25 competitors and the Absolute White belt division coming in at the cut off mark with 32 competitors. We would also like to congratulate the many new Teams and players who entered for the first time such as Gracie Barra Cebu, Carslon Gracie Philippines, Reamico , Strikes and Submission , Aki Jujutsu, JMC MMA it is good to see so many new players on the circuit and create a highly competitive competition between all the teams.
