2012 WPJJC Win

During the weekend of April 12-14, 2012, Top Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters from 21 countries descended in Abu Dhabi to compete in this year's World Professional Jiu Jitsu Championships (WPJJC).

The first Championship was held in April of 2009 in Abu Dhabi at the Tennis Court Zayed Sports City.

The event held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The event was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, the center-piece venue for such large sporting events in the UAE.
The WPJJC is one of the top-ranked Brazilain Jiu Jitsu events in the world. Abu Dhabi has long been a supporter of BJJ and aims to be the next center of excellence for BJJ.

Currently working with the Emirates National Oil Company , KMA's own Noel Eric Ang competed in last year's event but was only able to bag the Silver medal in the Seniors Heavyweights.
However for this year, Noel was able to get Championship in the Seniors 100kg+ category. Also during a hard fought and highly contested Seniors Open Division, Noel was able to win a hard fought Bronze Medal. Noel is the first Filipino to be declared World Champion in the WPJJC.
