Our Instructors are qualified in their respective fields, having had years of training and competition experience to pass on to their students. Only qualified Instructors are authorised to teach. KMA is the only school in South East Asia to have two Head Instructors with Black Belts in both Judo and BJJ. Head BJJ Instructor: ( see Instructor page) Stephen Kamphuis is one of SEA highest graded BJJ Black Belts and one of only a few non Brazilians graded to Black Belt in Brazil. Caoch Stephen is also a 2nd Degree IJF Judo Black Belt and 1st Degree Kodakan Judo Black Belt with more than 20 years experience in Martial Arts. He trained for over six years with Anthony Lange ( Lange - Machado ) and Brazlian Brown belt Rapael Costello ( Fabricio Academy) Coach Stephen is one of the most experienced BJJ competitors from Australia having competed and medalled in most major events Nationally and Internationaly. He has also represented NZ on several ocasssions as a member of the New Zealand National Junior and Senior Judo team. Head BJJ / Judo Instructor: ( see Instructor Page) John Baylon is one of SEA highest graded Judo Black Belts (6 degree Red and White belt graded in Kodokan Japan) and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under AZ Acadamia Japan. John has also been the former head Coach of the National Judo Team. John has competed in nearly all the major World Judo competitions, twice repreenting the Philippines in the Olympics, a rare achievement. He trained for over 15 years in Japan and also took up BJJ under Acadmey AZ Japan where he gained Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. With his competition results and experience he is one of the most accomplished Judo compeitors in SEA. Head Muay Thai Instructor: Kru Carlo Vicencio has been training and teaching the striking arts for nearly 20 years, he is a dedicated Martial artists and teacher who has also trained Muay Thai in Thailand under Fairtex. He is a certified Instructor under the Muay Thai Philippines. Instruction: Students will learn the proper techniques and basics required to progress in each Sport from Instructors qualified to teach. The Gym: Is a purpose built for Martial Arts training, with ample specialized equipment specific for each sport. KMA is a safe, friendly and clean environment where parents and adults alike can enjoy their training. The Gym and Instructors are trained to teach both Adults and Children in each Martial Art Style. All students are required to pass our syllabus before they can progress to the next grade. The syllabus ensures a unified standard is maintained and that students have a solid structure in the fundamentals and basic techniques at each belt level.
