Helio Gracie Passes away. One of the most inspirational figures in martial arts Helio Gracie passed away this first week of Febuary.
All of us who enjoy the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have Helio Gracie and the Gracie Family to thank for making this sport what it has become today. We are sad for the familys loss, and would like to take this time to reflect on the unique contribution that Helio Gracie made to the lives of so many students and practioners of the sport.

Master Fabricio Graded to 6th degree Black Belt.
In a very emotional day Grandmaster Osvaldo Alves graded his long time student Fabrico Martins to 6th degree Black Belt in his Academy Equipe Fabricio in Brazil.
Master Fabrico first started training with the Grandmaster at the age of 8 and has never stopped being on the mat. This new belt makes him one of the Worlds youngest 6 degree BJJ Black Belts at the age of just 42. Master Fabrico first started teaching at Grandmaster Alves Academy as a Black Belt before he received his blessing to open his own school. Grandmaster Alves is a direct student of Helio Gracie; students of Team Fabrico trace their lineage back to the Grandmaster and to the sports founders the Gracie family. Grandmaster Alves is very proud of Master Fabricio as his student and the members of Team Fabricio, describing the Team as one of the best in the world not only due to it's competition success but also the atmosphere and team spirit which we share.
