2nd Southern Philippines Kamphuis - Fabricio BJJ Open 
The 2nd Southern Philippines Kamphuis - Fabricio BJJ Open will be held in Davao, October 4-5, 2008. We expect to send a few competitors with Coach Stephen, and Coach Hiro who will assist in the running of the competition and the implimentation of the rules. This will be followed up with seminars and a grading for selected students. There are many new competitors and we wish everyone the best of luck on the day. Please register your interest early so we can arrange for cheap accomodation. International Masters Seniors Competition & No Gi Worlds International Masters Seniors Congratulations to Coach Stephen for taking Silver and Bronze in the International Masters Seniors Competition in Brazil and for posting the same result at the No Gi Worlds International Masters Seniors in LA held late July and early August.
During his time in LA, Stephen also completed an intense referee's course for Black Belts held by Master Alvaro the technical director of CBJJ and IBJJF. There where only 7 attendents including Leo Viera and many questions where raised and answered. Coach Stephen had this to say " Experienced refs and coaches who are aware of the rules are an important part of competition, in time we hope to run our own courses with the recognition of IBJJF to improve this aspect of the sport in the Philippines " Fairtex Muay Thai training Camp Welcome back to our Muay Thai Instructor Carlo Vicencio who spent most of July at Fairtex Muay Thai training camp in Thailand during the month of July. Carlo was able to immerse himself in his training keeping himself up to date with the latest training methods while having a very enjoyable experience training under the Fairtex Instructors. We would like to thank Fairtex for the kind hospitality and support they gave to Carlo and look forward to continuing our relationship with Fairtex. |
